Pausing and resuming an agent

TL;DR

Pause stops new actions immediately; in-flight conversations continue to be monitored and escalated. Resume picks up where it left off. Pausing never loses state.

How to pause

Agents → [agent] → toggle Pause. New drafts stop immediately, queued sends are held, and account scoring pauses. Replies to already-sent messages still arrive and still escalate — pause doesn't abandon live conversations.

When to pause

Common reasons: holiday freezes, deliverability incidents, messaging changes underway, or a compliance review. For deliverability issues, the agent may auto-pause sending on the affected mailbox and notify you.

Resuming

Toggle back to Live. The agent re-scores its queue (things change while paused), refreshes signals, and resumes sending within minutes. Held drafts older than 7 days are regenerated rather than sent stale.

Pause vs archive

Pause is temporary and preserves everything. Archive ends the agent's run and releases its accounts back to the pool. Use archive only when retiring the motion entirely.
