When two sources disagree on a field, Golden DB resolves the conflict by source-quality score + recency. You can configure per-field rules. Most conflicts resolve automatically; edge cases queue for review.
The default rule
Highest source-quality score wins. If sources tie on quality, the most-recent value wins. If sources tie on both, the existing value is preserved (no churn for ties).
Per-field rules
Some fields need different rules. Examples: "for email, always trust Provider A," "for phone, always trust the most-recent value regardless of source," "for employer, never override a manually-edited value." Configure in Settings → Conflict Resolution → Per-Field Rules.
Manual overrides
Some records have known-correct values that shouldn't be overridden by any source. Right-click the field → Lock Value. Locked values are immune to source-driven conflicts; only a manual edit can change them.
Conflict review queue
Conflicts that can't auto-resolve (e.g. both sources have equal quality and equal recency, neither is locked) queue for review in Data → Conflicts. Most workspaces see fewer than 10 conflicts per week needing review after initial setup.
