Waterfall enrichment queries multiple data providers in sequence — cheapest first, richest last — filling each field from the first provider that has it. Result: higher fill rates at lower average cost than any single provider.
The problem it solves
No single data provider has everything. Provider A covers 60% of your records, B covers a different 55%, C is expensive but deep. A waterfall combines them: try A, fall back to B for gaps, and reserve C for what's left.
How it works in turgo
You define a provider order per field group. On enrichment, turgo queries providers in order and stops as soon as the field is filled at sufficient confidence. Every fill is tagged with source and confidence.
The economics
Typical outcome: 90%+ fill on ICP-critical fields at 40–60% of the cost of using the premium provider alone. The cascade means you pay premium prices only for the records that need it.
What to read next
Set up your provider cascade, then configure confidence thresholds so low-quality fills don't pollute your Golden DB.
