Common day-1 mistakes

TL;DR

Most Day-1 problems trace to four mistakes: deploying agents before data is ready, skipping mailbox warm-up, writing a vague ICP, and turning on every channel at once.

Mistake 1 — Deploying agents before data is clean

Symptom: agents work the wrong accounts, write drafts that reference the wrong company, get embarrassing mismatches. Cause: CRM data wasn't reviewed before agent deploy. Fix: spend the first 24 hours reviewing the Golden Records that came out of the CRM sync. Fix obvious errors before any agent ships.

Mistake 2 — Skipping mailbox warm-up

Symptom: deliverability craters in the first week, replies stop, mailbox flagged. Cause: deployed an agent on a brand-new mailbox without warm-up. Fix: connect the mailbox at least 14 days before high-volume sending. If you need to send sooner, use a warmed mailbox you already have.

Mistake 3 — Writing a vague ICP

Symptom: agent engages every kind of company, reply quality is mixed, meeting-fit is bad. Cause: ICP rubric is too broad ("B2B SaaS, mid-market"). Fix: get specific. Add disqualifiers. Add technographics. Better to start narrow and expand than to start broad and waste cycles.

Mistake 4 — Turning on every channel at once

Symptom: prospects feel spammed, replies are angry, opt-outs spike. Cause: turned on email + LinkedIn + phone simultaneously without staggering. Fix: start with email only. Add LinkedIn after 2 weeks. Add phone after 4 weeks. Build per-channel rhythm before stacking.

Mistake 5 — Skipping the brand voice configuration

Symptom: drafts sound generic, customers comment that the emails "don't sound like you." Cause: agent is using default voice instead of your brand. Fix: upload 3–5 sample emails to Settings → Brand Voice before deploying any agent.
