Spend the first day on three things: connect your CRM, connect your mailbox, and write your ICP. Don't deploy an agent yet — get the foundation right first. Agent deployment happens on Day 2 or 3 once the data is clean.
The four-step Day 1 sequence
- Connect your CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) and let turgo build the initial Golden Records.
- Connect your primary sending mailbox and check that Health shows Good.
- Write a 200-word ICP description in plain English (we'll convert it to a rubric in step 4).
- Open the ICP builder and create your first rubric from the description.
What NOT to do on Day 1
- Don't deploy agents yet. The agent's quality is bounded by the data and ICP underneath it. Get those right first.
- Don't import lists from outside sources. The CRM import already has your real data; outside lists usually duplicate and pollute.
- Don't invite the whole team yet. Get the workspace set up correctly with one or two admins before opening it up.
What good Day 1 looks like
By end of day: CRM connected, ~80% of records resolved into Golden Records, mailbox showing Health: Good, ICP rubric saved. Total time: 2–3 hours including the CRM sync wait.
Common Day 1 problems
- CRM sync slow or stuck. Usually a permissions issue. Check the integration log; re-authorize if needed.
- Mailbox showing Health: Warming. New mailboxes need warm-up before high-volume sending. See Warm up a new mailbox in 14 days.
- ICP rubric won't save. Usually missing required fields (firmographics). Check the validation errors below the form.
